Today Lucy is as good as new. |
On the day of the quail opener in New Mexico, November 2002, Troy Sparks and a friend had been hunting quail with Lucy, a Llewellin Setter, all day. Upon returning to the truck, Troy noticed a dime-sized blood clot on Lucy’s neck. When he began to clean it, “blood starting pouring down her neck”. Luckily, Troy had EMT Gel on hand! After applying EMT Gel, gauze and vet wrap, Troy and his friend started driving – 30 minutes back to the blacktop and straight to Lucy’s vet, two hours away.
When the vet began to remove the dressings, “blood squirted about 6” out of her neck.” Lucy was stitched up quickly and a drain was inserted. A week later the stitches came out and today Lucy is as good as new.
Troy Sparks might never know how Lucy got hurt – but he will always know why she recovered. EMT Gel helps reduce bleeding by forming a “plug” over wounds, encouraging natural clotting. Lucy is one of many animals whose lives have been saved by EMT Gel. |
